2023 ICCAC Fall Preview | Women's Cross Country

2023 ICCAC Fall Preview | Women's Cross Country

The ICCAC Women's Cross Country season begins this weekend as teams ban together and take aim at competing for a national championship.

At the Division I level, Iowa Western was the unanimous #1 in the Coaches Poll. The Reivers return some top talent and have a true shot at winning the Region 11 crown. Iowa Central last won a national championship in 2019 -- the Tritons finished fifth last year and are the team to beat, having won every regional title since (at least) 2004.

Southeastern is expected to be the top ICCAC team in Division II as they look to repeat as Region 11 Championships. Coach Keifer and the Blackhawks bring back talent from last year's roster, including Aisha Ramone, the Division II Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Year.

NIACC, DMACC, and Hawkeye will all push the Blackhawks -- The RedTails won the first two DII regionals in 2020 and 2021 -- but have a new coach this season.
