2024 NJCAA All-American | Volleyball
The NJCAA Volleyball All-Americans for the 2024-25 season were announced on Tuesday, featuring six standout student-athletes from the ICCAC across Division I and Division II.
Indian Hills celebrated another strong season with two players earning All-American honors.
Sara Van Gisteren earned her second consecutive All-American recognition, this time as a First Team selection. The dynamic outside hitter helped lead the Warriors to another NJCAA National Tournament appearance and there earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Van Gisteren ranked No. 1 in kills with 678 and was No. 2 in kills per set at 4.70. She was also among the leaders in points with 783.5, finishing with a .308 hitting percentage. Van Gisteren's offensive ability and leadership were key in the Warriors' strong finish, earning her a spot on the NJCAA All-Tournament Team.
Joining her was teammate Ana Carolina Westerich, a Second Team All-American selection. Westerich led the Warriors offense as their setter, tallying 1401 assists, taking the top spot in the NJCAA.
Joining the Division I team was Marian Vega of Iowa Western. Vega, a middle blocker, shined in her freshman season, tallying 243 kills, and accumulating a total of 292 points. Her efficiency at the net, combined with a strong serving game, made her an integral part of Iowa Western's season.
Four ICCAC athletes earned All-American recognition in Division II after two of the 12 teams earned a spot at the National Tournament.
Kaci Johnson of Kirkwood led the way with a First Team All-American nod. The ICCAC Division II Player of the Year played a pivotal role in the Eagles impressive season, as a 6-2 setter she accumulated a season total of 14 triple doubles; in kills, digs and assists. She averaged 5.77 assists per set (865 total), 2.79 digs per set (418 total) and 2.43 kills per set (365 total).
DMACC's Abbi Brenizer earned a spot on the Second Team after a standout season as a middle hitter. Brenizer collected 142 blocks, placing her in the top ten in the NJCAA, and totaled 424 kills. She also contributed behind the service line with 41 aces and was instrumental in the Bears' success throughout the year.
Iowa Central's Olivia Sturgis rounded out the ICCAC selections with her Third Team All-American. Sturgis was a force at the net for the Tritons, compiling 172 total blocks and finishing first in block assists with 164. She also recorded 298 kills, making her a key two-way player for Iowa Central.
