Match of the Week: Western Iowa Tech def. Northeast, 3-2

Western Iowa Tech rallied from being down two sets to one to take one on the road from Northeast.

The Comets took the first set 25-21 before dropping the next two 25-20 and 25-11. A lackluster third set prompted a rebound, as the Comets battled to another 25-21 victory in the fourth. From there, all the momentum was in their favor and they powered to a 15-8 fifth set win on the road in Norfolk. 

Western Iowa Tech benefitted from Northeast's errors. The Hawks committed 34 hitting errors and had a .101 hit percentage. 

Maya Augustine was the leader for WITCC -- she had nine kills and 14 digs for the Comets. 

Western Iowa Tech picked up the much needed win, and not puts them in a tie for the eigth and final playoff spot with Southeastern at 3-4. However, the Blackhawks own the head-to-head tiebreaker after a 3-0 win on Sept. 27.

Northeast is in a four-way tie for fourth place -- each team has four matches remaining.

Next up for WIT is on the road at No. 20 Hawkeye on Tuesday, while Northeast travels to a surging Ellsworth team on Thursday who is a part of that four-way tie.
