2024 All-Region | Division II Women's Soccer
The 2024 Division II Women's Soccer All-Region teams have been released after what was likely the most competitive season, top to bottom, the league has seen in five year history. Four teams were ranked in the final NJCAA poll.
Iowa Central finished the regular season on top the conference standings, earning them four selections to the First Team. At the top of the list for the Tritons was Eden Palkovic who was named the 2024 ICCAC Division II Women's Soccer Player of the Year.
Palkovic scored on 26 occasions this past year with six assists on top of that. Her goals scored this season is currently tied for fourth most in the NJCAA after District play. Palkovic also scored or provided an assist in 12 of the 17 games the Tritons played this season.
She had five multi-goal games, four hat tricks and scored a season-high five goals on two separate occasions. In the NJCAA, Palkovic finished the season with the sixth-most points with 58. This is her second straight season earning First Team All-Region honors.
Joining Palkovic on First Team All-Region from Iowa Central are Mckenna Hilton, Natalie Zimlich and Perla Rios.
Hilton and Rios both played in midfield this season, each playing nearly every game. Rios scored once and provided four assists. Hilton scored six goals with nine assists.
Zimlich was no nonsense in a defense that only allowed 0.22 goals per game in conference play.
Hawkeye finished as the runner-up in Region 11, both in the Tournament and regular season. They earned three selections to the First Team.
With her second First Team All-Region selection Kim Bircher was one of the best goalkeepers in the conference, keeping 11 clean sheets in 15 games while only conceding nine goals while making 46 saves.
Nelly Dallmann and Miranda Tyler made up the other two selections. Dallmann in midfield contributed six goals and five assists. Tyler had seven goals and three assists.
Iowa Lakes and Northeast both received two selections to the First Team. Both teams were ranked in the NJCAA all season long and Iowa Lakes won the Region 11 Tournament Championship.
From the Lakers were strikers Amelia Kimble and Ronniellia Bubb. Together these two partnered up front to score 46 goals, Kimble with 24 and Bubb with 22. Each also provided assists with five and nine respectively.
Northeast selected Samantha Bayer and Talia Sanders to earn First Team All-Region honors. Bayer and Sanders were fourth and fifth in most goals in the conference this season with 17 and 15 respectively.
Rounding out the First Team Selections are Iola Vanharen from NIACC, Servane Veyrac from Southeastern and Andrea Nicole Chiliquiniga Haro from Western Iowa Tech.
To conclude the top honors this season is Coach Jordan Sibenaller of Iowa Central being voted the ICCAC Division II Women's Soccer Coach of the Year. Sibenaller led Iowa Central to their first conference regular season title since 2015 and the No. 1 seed of the Region 11 Tournament. They finished the season with a 8-0-1 conference record and a 9-5-3 overall record -- ranked No. 8 in the country in the final poll.
