2023 ICCAC Fall Preview | Women's Soccer

Division I:

Indian Hills and Iowa Western are the two teams to remain at the DI level after both Iowa Central and Iowa Lakes departed for DII. Indian Hills will be under first year head coach Jon Hussak in 2023. He takes over a Warriors' team that went 11-8-1 last year and will hope to build on the success of 2022.

Iowa Western enters 2023 as the reigning National Champions after also winning the region and district titles. Head Coach Adam Sanchez will lead his group of young women out on the field for a ninth straight season with hopes of defending their title.

Both will prepare for the District Tournament, which they have already qualified for based on redistricting. They will head to the Region 24 Champion along with Region 16 and play in a six-team tournament with the winner playing the Region 7 Champion for an automatic bid to the National Tournament.

Division II:

Division II Women's Soccer adds three new teams to the mix; Iowa Central, Iowa Lakes, and Western Iowa Tech. The Comets of Western Iowa Tech added athletics to their program here in 2023 which includes women's soccer -- while Iowa Central and Iowa Lakes make their way from Division I.

The Tritons and Lakers could spoil the tradition Northeast has established. Northeast will look to defend their crown from a year ago -- and all three years of ICCAC Division II Women's Soccer. The Hawks have won the region, district and advanced to the National Tournament for the past three seasons.

Hawkeye is expected to be in the mix as well. They  bring talent to their roster, along with returning some key pieces from 2022.

NIACC, Southeastern, Western Iowa Tech, Scott, and Marshalltown fill up the rest of the standings for Division II. All but WIT will qualify for the postseason this year -- the Comets are ineligible in the first year of NJCAA competition.
