Former Triton Dominates at Midlands

Colon - who is ranked fourth nationally at 133 - defeated three wrestlers ranked in the top-seven nationally, including top-ranked A.J. Schoop 3-0 in the semifinals. He pinned Iowa's Tony Ramos in 2:37 for the title. He was UNI's first individual champion since 2005 and helped the Panthers to a fifth-place team finish, which ties the program's highest finish ever at the event.

Winning is nothing new for Colon. The Clear Lake native was the 2010 NJCAA individual National Champion and All-American at 125 and Most Outstanding Wrestler at the national meet as a freshman before redshirting his sophomore year.
