2022 Plains District | Day 1 Results
MILFORD, Kan. - Iowa Western women lead the team competition through the first day of the 2022 Women's Golf Plains District Championship.
The Reivers are off to a good start to continue their streak of dominance in post season play as they lead the crowd at +29, a 10-stroke lead over Dodge City (Kan.) who currently sits at +39.
The top golfer for Iowa Western on day one was Katie Graham who currently sits in second place with a first round score of 76. Two of her teammates, Luisa Gibson and Seira Kubo, joined her in the current top-5 through the first day. Overall, the Reivers had a very successful day as a team, with all golfers finishing in the top-25 through the first round.
Dodge City currently sits in second place through the first round as a team, but currently has the top individual performer. Thitapha Iamtragul currently sits in first place on the individual leaderboard after shooting a first-round 74.
She will go into Tuesday's round with a two-stroke lead. Dodge City for the most part was very solid through round one with 4 golfers finishing in the top-12 on day one.
Barton County (Kan.) finished in third place through day one with a team score of +51 but had many good individual placings. Paulina Villavicence was the top performer for Barton on day one after shooting a best 81. Villavicence currently sits in sixth place in the individual competition.
Other top individuals from around the ICCAC include Ashley Michel of DMACC who finished tied for third place with a first round score of 78.
Kelly Winter of Iowa Lakes also finds herself near the top as she is currently tied for 12th place after a first round score of 86.
Iowa Central has two individuals competing. Their best golfer on day one was Kelly Boleyn who is also tied for 12th place currently after her first round 86.
