2018 Women’s Golf All-Region Teams Announced

The Reivers' Cassidy Evreniadis was named the 2018 Player of the Year after finishing first individually at last week's Region XI Championship. The sophomore, who now qualifies for the NJCAA Women's Golf Championship on May 14-17 in Mesa, Ariz., had three tournament wins this season while averaging a score of 77.00. Evreniadis is also the 29^th ranked NJCAA golfer according to GolfStat.

Iowa Western's head coach Derrick Thompson was named the Coach of the Year after leading the Reivers to a first-place team finish at the Region XI Championship. The Reivers finished with a team score of 1,321, which was 53 shots better than runner-up DMACC. In his fourth year as head coach, Thompson led the women's team to a fifth-place finish at last year's NJCAA National Championship. 

Iowa Western freshman Lisa Lied also earned First-Team honors. The Norwegian finished second at the Region XI Championship, just two shots behind champion and teammate, Cassidy Evreniadis.

From DMACC, sophomore Jaime Bellingham was also named to the All-Region First-Team. The sophomore finished third individually at the Region XI Championship with a total score of 309. Bellingham was an All-American last season.

Southeastern sophomore Emma Pry earns First-Team All-Region honors after placing fourth at the Region XI Championship with a total score of 324. The New London, Iowa native helped lead the Blackhawks to a third-place team finish last week. 

Iowa Lakes' Annika DuMoulin rounds out the 2018 All-Region First-Team. The freshman finished fifth individually at the Region XI Championship with a total score of 337. 

The All-Region Second-Team honorees include Bianca Findlay (Southwestern), Morgan Totsch (Southeastern), Courtney Tusler (NIACC), Kortney Orr (DMACC), and Kim Park (Iowa Western).

The All-Region Honorable Mentions include Kylie Nichols (DMACC), Alison Schweers (DMACC), Frankie Johnson (Southeastern), Payton Schmidt (Iowa Western), and Sydney Fullerton (NIACC).
