Three Named 2022 All-Americans for Women's Basketball
The NJCAA released their 2022 Women's Basketball All-Americans on Tuesday, and three ICCAC players saw their names on the list.
After winning their eighth national championship, Kirkwood placed their top two performers on the 2022 All-American First Team.
The ICCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year Ashley Tull was a First Team selection. Tull, a two-time ICCAC First Team All-Region performer, was one of the top post players in the country. She averaged 11.8 points per game while shooting 57.2 percent from the field, 10th best in the country. She was third in the nation in total rebounds with 330, good for 8.92 per game.
Rounding out her post presence, Tull was fifth in the country in blocks with 74.
Tull's teammate and the Eagles' leading scorer Kortney Drake joined the First Team selections. Averaging 12.6 points per game, the sophomore sharp shooter was arguably the best three-point shooter in the country. By volume, she made the second-most threes in the nation (119). Based on efficiency, she shot 48.4 percent, also second-best. Drake made three-pointers in 35 of 37 games this season.
Lastly, Drake had the No. 1 assist-to-turnover ratio in the country. She had 3.5 assists per every turnover.
Joining the two Eagles on the All-American list, Northeast's Ashley Hassett earned a Third Team All-American selection.
Hassett was the ICCAC's leading scorer at 20.5 points per game. She ended the year scoring the third-most points in Division II NJCAA Women's Basketball with 635 points on the season.
Hassett earned her points -- she led the nation in free throws made with 231. She was also one of the nation's leading rebounders gathering 300 total (7th-most) and 9.7 per game.
