ICCAC WINTER PREVIEW | DIVISION II WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
For the second-straight season, ICCAC Women's Basketball will play a 20-game home/away conference schedule. The only difference is that now all 11 teams are at the Division II level, fighting for one bid at the NJCAA National Tournament.
Iowa Western, Marshalltown and Northeast join the Division II conference after their final season of participation at the Division I level. Iowa Western took home their third-straight Region XI Championship last year and advanced to the NJCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017.
In Division II, two teams were able to qualify for the NJCAA National Tournament after receiving an additional bid because of the lack of participation across the country due to COVID-19. Kirkwood took Region XI-A and Iowa Central won Region XI-B to advance to the dance.
With still only one bid available due to the NJCAA Districting contract lasting through the 2022-23 season, 11 teams are vying for one spot. That is unfortunate with as much depth as the league has. Look for Kirkwood, Iowa Western, Iowa Central and Northeast to make a push at the top, with Iowa Lakes, Southwestern and DMACC close behind them.
Find out more on each team, their top performers, their history and an outlook in the 2021-22 ICCAC Division II Women's Basketball preview!
