Week In Review | Women's Basketball | March 15-21

There weren't many close games this week throughout the ICCAC, but Iowa Lakes and Marshalltown had a battle as the Tigers hosted the Lakers on Saturday. 

In the first quarter, the Tigers jumped out to an early lead by holding Iowa Lakes to just nine points in the first ten minutes. 

The offenses got things going a little more in the second quarter, Iowa Lakes went on to score 21, and Marshalltown put 14 points together. The Lakers took a narrow lead into the locker room, leading 30-29.

The third quarter had the shooters go cold once again, but Iowa Lakes began to pull away just a bit, they led 45-38 going into the final frame. Marshalltown made pushes at a comeback, but they fell just short down the stretch. The Lakers were able to outlast the Tigers and win the game 58-53. 

Iowa Lakes got some balanced scoring with only Jaeda Whitner putting up double figures with 15. The shooting was lackluster but they were able to overcome that with solid defense and very few turnovers. With poor shooting hte assist numbers weren't what they want to be but the turnover margin for the Lakers was +10, that included swiping 12 steals.  

Marshalltown was powered by Eva Zaragoza and Nuria Castillo who had 13 points and 11 points, respectively.
