ICCAC SPRING PREVIEW | DIVISION I SOFTBALL
Indian Hills has dominated the Division I Softball landscape in Iowa for the past six seasons. The Warriors have won every regional tournament dating back to 2015 and have reached the World Series three times.
They are the favorite again this season as they provide power, speed and the pitching to compete. On their tail is Iowa Western who has finished second in conference standings the last four years with their last regular season title coming in 2016. The Reivers will need production from their newcomers, as much of their top talent has vacated.
Southeastern, the host of this year's Region XI Tournament, looks to make a run at home. The Blackhawks reached the Region XI Championship game the last time there was a double-elimination tournament back in 2019.
Southwestern has a new coach, Iowa High School great Danny Jensen. The Iowa Softball Hall of Famer will be back in the dugout for the first time since 2019.
Rounding out the group, Marshalltown returns to the diamond after being unable to compete in the Region XI Tournament due to COVID-19 protocols at the end of their season.
Check out the 2022 ICCAC Division I Softball Preview as some teams open up this weekend.
