2021 FALL PREVIEW | MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

2021 FALL PREVIEW | MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

The ICCAC Men's Cross Country teams couldn't have had a much more successful season last year. The ICCAC swept the NJCAA Championships, taking both the Division I and Division II team titles and each of the individual titles.

On the Division I side, Iowa Central won their fourth national team title as Kelvin Bungei claimed the individual crown. He will be back to lead the Tritons again in 2021.

Iowa Western has a couple key pieces back as well and will look to give the Tritons some trouble. After finishing third last year, the Reivers are ready to make a push.

Indian Hills is primed for another top 10 performance after finishing seventh last year, while Southwestern has a full roster and young talent to make them as competitive as they have been.

Division II saw NIACC win their first ever national championship. The Trojans Melvin Kipkemboi returns again this season after winning the Division II individual crown in 2020.

Hawkeye put together a top 10 team performance at the national meet. They have some runners with experience coming back, but to repeat that they will have to improve on their times and move up the leaderboard.

DMACC, Scott and Southeastern round out the five-team Division II conference.

All teams will head to Waterloo on Oct. 29 for the Region XI Championships and Richmond, Va. on Nov. 13 for the NJCAA National Meet.
