2020 ICCAC Division I & II Men's Postseason Awards
Each year, the ICCAC All-Region Teams are determined by their place at the Region XI Championships. 2020 marked the first year of the ICCAC split into two Divisions (I & II).
Iowa Central dominated Division I yet again filling up seven of the fifteen selections. Iowa Western accounted for five selections from the field with Indian Hills following with two and Southwestern with one.
On the Division II side, NIACC had 10 selections to the All-Region team and Hawkeye finished with five.
The Division I Male Athlete of the Year was Kelvin Bungei from Iowa Central. Bungei received three Athlete of the Week selections throughout the ICCAC Cross Country season. Bungei was the individual champion in both Grand View meets and the Morningside Invitational this season while placing third in the NAIA Seminole Valley Invite and convincingly won the 2020 Region XI Championship.
The Division II Male Athlete of the Year was Hawkeye RedTail Sam Mickelson. Mickelson had a dominant season in Division II breaking records left and right. During the Indian Hills Invitational, Mickelson set the school record in his run which was also a personal best. Mickelson had four victories in a row leading up to the Regional Championships and had a third place finish at the Region XI meet.
Dee Brown of Iowa Central was named the Division I Men's Coach of the Year. The No. 1 ranked Tritons won their eighth consecutive Region XI Championship and had their ninth straight individual region champion.
Hawkeye's Tyler Mulder was announced as the Division II Men's Coach of the Year. In the first ever divisional split in the ICCAC, the Hawkeye men came in second place as a team. This season, Coach Mulder led the men's team to an overall championship at the Mount Mercy Mustang Gallop and RedTails entered the Regional Championships ranked fourth nationally in NJCAA Division II.
