ICCAC Cross Country Results | Week 2
This past Friday, the ICCAC traveled back to Ankeny for the Grand View Invitiational at DMACC's course. Also, Hawkeye and Scott competed at the Fighting Bee Invite at Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Men
Five ICCAC schools placed in the top 8 with Iowa Central finishing first. Kelvin Bungei of the Tritons placed first for the second weekend in a row, crossing the finish line with a time of 26:17.5. Teammates, Pur Biel (26:50.6) and Chris Levario (26:51.3) finished third and fourth respectively.
NIACC finished in second place with two top 10 runners representing their team. Freshman, Melvin Kipkemboi, placed 7th with a time of 27:12.9 and his teammate Jorge Ruiz, was right behind him finishing five seconds after. (27:17.8)
Iowa Western placed 3rd overall with Freshman, Yonas Mogos, leading his team with a second place finish individually with a time of 26:38.4.
In their first meet of the year, Indian Hills finished in 5th place with their top finisher being Fershman runner, Nicholas O'Connor, crossing the finish line at 28:15.8.
To finish up the Men's results, Southwestern placed 8th overall. The Spartans top finisher was Josh Baudler with a time of 28:50.9, which was four seconds behind the next finisher.
Women
On the Women's side, Iowa Central finished in first place overall for the second weekend in a row matching up with the Men's team. The Tritons filled up the top 5, contributing four of the five finishers. Eleonora Curtabbi lead her team with a time of 18:47.7 with teammate, Chloe Lenoir, coming in right behind her. (19:01.9) Two other sophomores placed, Rosalie Fish finishing third and Lilia Alvarez finishing fifth.
Iowa Western took second place with a top 10 finish from Reivers' Freshman, Mohussin Abakar. She ended with a time of 21:05.2.
Rounding out the meet, NIACC finished in fifth place with last week's Division II Athlete of the Week, Sarah Bertry.
Fighting Bee Invite
Men
Over in Bettendorf, Hawkeye and Scott competed in the Fighting Bee Invite. The Redtails Men's team finished first overall, landing three runners finishing in the top 6. They were led by Sophomore, Sam Mickelson, with a time of 20:14.5. Harrison Vanderlinden finished fifth indivudally with his teammate, Kolby Winter, finishing right behind him.
The Scott Eagles placed fifth overall, led by Freshman, Eric Zabel, finishing 11th individually with a time of 21:40.6.
Women
For the Women, Hawkeye placed second overall with Ryann Portch finishing third. She ran a time of 19:44.6 in her second meet this season. Other top 10 finishers on the Redtails were Mindi Sande who placed seventh (21:00.7) and Kaylee Leicht finished eighth. (21:05.1)
Scott finished seventh overall with Freshman, Kaylie DeSwart, leading the team with a finish of 25:51.8 which landed her 41st individually.
ICCAC will have their next action on Saturday, Sept. 19th, in North Sioux City, S.D. with Iowa Central and Iowa Western competing in the Morningside Invite.
