The ICCAC Division I Coaches have selected the 2024 All-Region team with 11 players being named on this year's list.
Both Indian Hills and Iowa Western have had outstanding seasons, with the Warriors being ranked No. 1 in the country for a large portion of the year and Iowa Western being in the top 5 a majority of the season.
While Indian Hills was ranked higher the majority of the season, Iowa Western prevailed in two of the teams three meetings this season (the third resulting in a draw), earned themselves the Region 11 title and advanced to District play. The Reivers success over Indian Hills in 2024 helped them to seven spots on the All-Region team.
Leading the selections for Iowa Western was the ICCAC Division I Player of the Year, AJ Tesilimi. Tesilimi had two assists while anchoring a stout defense. The Reivers allowed less than one goal per game with a .086 GAA -- 11th best in the NJCAA, 18 total.
Fellow defensemen Takumi Kumakura was also named to the First Team. He had three goals and three assists.
Hayato Takayama led the Reivers in assists with 17 and scored 13 goals which was tied for second most on the team. The Reivers were the top goal scoring team in the country through the District Tournament with 103 goals scored in 21 games.
Iowa Western had three midfielders selected in Efraims Valutadatils, Brian Lopez and Florentino Junior.
Lopez had the second-most assists on the Reivers team with seven to go with his five goals scored.
Junior had five assists for the season, while Valutadatils had five goals and one assist.
Rounding out the selections for Iowa Western was goalkeeper Francesco Tricarico who kept six clean sheets and made 48 saves over 21 games, giving him a .727 save percentage.
Indian Hills put four players on the All-Region team starting with Daniel Mulero. Mulero scored 13 goals and 16 assists as one of the top offensive producers in the country. He currently ranks third in the NJCAA in assists and is fourth in points with 42.
Joining Mulero were fellow goal scorers Lucas Bauer and Miguel Rivera. Bauer earned the honors for a second straight season, this year scoring none goals and assisting eight others. Rivera had one goal and an assist on the season.
To wrap up the All-Region team in 2024 was Indian Hills midfielder Jeremie Truel. Truel scored once and provided two assists and was a critical member of the starting 11 for the Warriors who received an at-large bid.
The 2024 Coach of the Year was Mike Brown after leading Iowa Western to the District Tournament. The Reivers earned an automatic bid to the National Tournament and the No. 1 seed of the championship. The Reivers are 19-0-2 and look to win their first national championship since 2021.
