ICCAC FALL 2022 PREVIEW | DIVISION II MEN'S SOCCER
There are four new head coaches across the five-team ICCAC Division II soccer league, with the longest tenured coach entering this season. The league will grow by three teams next season, with Iowa Central, Iowa Lakes and Marshalltown joining the bunch.
This season, Southeastern and Hawkeye are the favorites to dual again for the Region XI Championship. The two teams have met in the Region XI final each of the last two tournaments -- with Southeastern prevailing each time.
The Blackhawks are ranked No. 7 in the NJCAA preseason poll -- and won a National Championship in spring 2021, and reached the NJCAA Tournament again in the fall. They will be powered by ICCAC Player of the Year Jimson St. Louis -- who returns after a fantastic 2021 campaign.
Hawkeye lost a lot of their firepower -- but still should be in position to make a run at the region. The RedTails were the regular season champions last year, finishing with a record of 9-1 in conference play.
NIACC and Northeast hope to reach the Region XI Championship game this year. Northeast has a new coach and has brought in some talent, while NIACC has expanded their roster and have a few key pieces from last year's team.
Scott is under new leadership as well. The Eagles hope for a competitive season, and an upset comes at season's end.
No longer in the scheduling agreement -- Dakota County will join the Region XI Tournament placed into the tournament as a non-hosting seed.
