KIES HIRED AS SOUTHEASTERN HEAD GOLF COACH

WEST BURLINGTON - Southeastern Community College Athletics has announced the hiring of Dan Kies as Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach. Kies brings an extensive coaching background to Southeastern, coaching golf at the Burlington Notre Dame high school for 4 years, and basketball for 11 years. Coach Kies has displayed his skillset as a mentor and a manager for athletes during his coaching tenure, and will look to continue the same at Southeastern.
“We couldn’t be more excited for Coach Kies to be joining our department,” Head Athletic Director Joe O’Brien states. “Dan embodies what we are looking for in our coaches at Southeastern. His knowledge of the area, and extensive coaching experience is a huge asset for the golf program, as well as the department.”
In addition to coaching, Kies has served as the manager of the KingPins bowling alley at the Fun City Resort, where he has been in charge of managing budgets, staff members, and day-to-day operations within the company. Kies holds a degree in general studies from Know College in Galesburg, IL, as well as a Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Sports Management from Quincy University in Quincy, IL.
