ICCAC Division II Men's Golf All-Region Recognized for 2023-24 Season
The ICCAC announced the Division II Men's Golf All-Region teams, Player of the Year and Coach of the Year on Monday.
Kirkwood's Darin Pint was named Division II Coach of the Year for Men's Golf. His team is ranked #3 in the nation after starting the season ranked sixth. The Eagles have seven tournament wins this season that included their team win during the North Plains District Championships. Pint had three golfers that made First Team All-Region and one golfer that made Second Team All-Region. Pint and the Eagles won the Division II National Title last year and will be going back to the NJCAA Championships May 21-24 in Joplin, Missouri.
Drew Teeter for DMACC was voted the Division II Men's Golf Player of the Year. The Bear golfer has been ranked Top 10 in the nation all year. Teeter finished the North Central District Championship tied for second after shooting 1-under for the two day event, and led the field after the first two rounds.
Teeter is currently ranked #10 in the Clippd rankings and holds a scoring average of 73.4 on the season. He has played in 11 stroke play events this season and hasn't finished lower than 25th in those events. The DMACC sophomore won four events and has finished top-three eight different times this season. Teeter also posted a score of 65 to set a school record and played to a fourth place result at the NJCAA Preview tournament in the fall.
Along with Teeter, four other Division II ICCAC golfer's were placed on the First Team.
Kirkwood had three of the five First Team All-Region spots for the ICCAC -- which are determined by a golfer's finish at the District Tournament. Nate Offerman finished this season ranked #16 in the nation and tied for second in the North Central District Championships. Offerman holds an adjusted scoring average of 74.3 and has three top-three finishes this season for the Eagles.
The next First Team All-Region player for Kirkwood was Frank Haege, who also finished tied for second with teammate Offerman and DMACC's Teeter. Haege is ranked #59 according to Clippd and has two top-three finishes on the season. Haege holds an adjusted scoring average of 75.3 in 13 stroke play events this season.
The final First Team All-Region golfer from Kirkwood was Nathan Bratanata, who finished sixth in the North Central District Championships. Bratanat shot 3-over at the District. This season he is ranked #33 in the country and has one top three finish this season in the 11 stroke play events. Kirkwood's Bratanata holds a scoring average of 74.9 on the season and has five top 10 finishes.
Rounding out the group was Iowa Central sophomore Nico Booyens. Booyens didn't have any wins but has placed top 10 in all but two of his 14 events. Booyens shot 1-over during the North Central District Championships placing him in fifth. Booyens is currently ranked #21 in the Nation and holds a scoring average of 73.9 on the season. He will head to the National Tournament as an individual.
