Indian Hills Captures 7th Men’s Golf National Title

At the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kan., it was all Warriors as they won the NJCAA Division I Men's Golf National Championship by 11 strokes. Indian Hills had the lowest team total in three of the four days and ended with a final score of 1127, which was 25-under par, collectively among the five players in attendance.

Indian Hills Jose Ramirez won the individual title with a score of 276 over four rounds. Ramirez became the fifth Indian Hills men's golfer to be the NJCAA Individual National Champion. His 12-under score was the second-best finish in school history. In the four total rounds, Ramirez had 18 birdies and had the lowest score in two of the rounds.

Gaspar Glaudas was next up for the Warriors, finishing third in the event with a 9-under 279. Taimur Malik tied for 15th overall with a 1-under 287 followed then by Edouard Cereto's at 2-over 290. Sophomore Mitchell Revie rounded out the group with a score of 6-over 294.

As a team, Indian Hills posted round scores of 278-284-280-285 to win the National Championship while ending 11 strokes ahead of second-place Odessa (Texas).

Indian Hills won their seventh men's golf national title and sixth at the NJCAA DI level. The Warriors took the lead with a 10-under during the opening round and never gave it up, leading wire-to-wire.

Iowa Western was also at the tournament -- and finished in 17th out of the 24 teams participating. The Reivers were 51-over with a score of 1203. Through all four rounds Iowa Western shot 294-293-296-320. They were inside the top 12 as a team and Ethan Smith was in third place as an individual during day 3, but the final round had other plans.

Smith was even after shooting 70-69-69-80 in all four rounds. He finished tied for 18th in the golfer leaderboard. Max Nielsen tied for 52nd with a 9-over 297. Cooper Hansen was tied for 89th with 21-over 309. Hansen was the only Reiver to not have his worst play on the final day. Cam Bishop tied for 106 while 26-over 314 and Matt Dennis tied for 108 with 27-over 315.
