Iowa Western Men's Bowling Wins First National Championship
After a runner-up finish in 2024, Iowa Western prevailed this season at the NJCAA Men's Bowling Championships to win their first-ever title in the sport.
The Reivers were led by Allen Stauffer, who rolled a perfect game on day two; the first 300 at the NJCAA Championships since 2000 and just the 10th time in championship history. Stauffer finished the weekend with the most pin falls, 2,759, to earn Most Valuable Bowler honors. He averaged 230 in 12 games to win the All-Event title.
The Reivers start to finish. They led Rock Valley 6243 to 6175 after day one of the singles and doubles tournament, then took a 235 pin lead over Hudson Valley after day two.
On day three, IWCC held a 440 pin advantage going into the final nine baker games and the team never faltered, winning the tournament with a final pin fall of 14341, 534 pins ahead of Hudson Valley.
Both Stauffer and teammate Casey Montgomery of Iowa Western earned NJCAA All-American status, finishing 1-2. Montgomery ended with 2,564 pins, respectively.
Trey Hanke took 10th place, just two spots outside of All-American status and was the third highest ICCAC finisher. Sebastain King was 14th and Aydan Belfiore was 16th.
Of two other ICCAC schools, Hawkeye finished in 8th. The RedTails top performer was Ryder Fleming who finished just outside of the top 10 in 12th place. Fleming averaged 201 for the tournament with a total of 2417 pins.
Iowa Central was placed on postseason probation in 2024-25 after the participation of an ineligible student-athlete last season.
