Iowa Central Women Take Home 2020 NJCAA Championship

Iowa Central wins 2020 NJCAA Women's Bowling Championship, becoming their first title in program history.

The Triton bowling team secured the 2020 NJCAA National Championship last weekend in Cheektowaga, N.Y.

Led by Toni Hansen, the All-Events runner-up, Iowa Central fought off second place Barton (KS) by 44 points with a total score of 12,157. Allison Christenson finished third in the All Events.

Iowa Central totaled 12,157 pins throughout the three-day event to finish ahead of Barton. The team total for the Tritons is the most in a national tournament since the 2017 season.

Four ICCAC bowlers earned All-American status with their performances. Hansen, Christenson and Madison Ross (7th place) from Iowa Central and Iowa Western's Shalee Bradley, who finished in fourth place in the All-Events.

On the men's side, Iowa Central finished in second place.

Raymond Wiegan finished third in the All Events Standings with a score of 2,426, only 26 points behind second. Another Triton found themselves in the top three with Nickolas Borgman placing second in the Singles with a score of 627.

Iowa Western finished fourth in the Tournament with a score of 12,896. Jacob Schuster finished in fifth place in the All Events standings, earning All-American status.
