ICCAC Division I Men's Basketball All-Region Awards
The ICCAC Division I Men's Basketball All-Region honors were announced on Monday, recognizing the standout players from the conference's three teams.
Indian Hills led the way with three players earning First Team All-Region accolades, highlighted by ICCAC Division I Player of the Year Abdoulaye Fall. Fall had an exceptional season, averaging 11 points per game and shooting an impressive 52.8 percent from the field, making him a consistent force for the Warriors throughout the year.
Fall was the leading scorer on a well-balanced Indian Hills offense that had eight players average 7 or more points. He led the way at 11 per game to go along with 4.3 rebounds.
His top scoring performance came against Kankakee when he poured in 27 on 10 for 15 shooting. He scored 20 or more points four times. Falls' season shooting splits were 52.8% overall, 36.8% from three and 74.8% from the line.
Joining Fall on the First Team from Indian Hills were Trenton Walters and William Beugre-Kassi. Beugre-Kassi, who earned an Honorable Mention in 2024, was a key contributor this season, averaging 10.3 points and 6 rebounds per game.
Walters, on the other hand, averaged 10.5 points per game and was especially lethal from beyond the arc, shooting 41.1 percent from three-point range.
Walters' most memorable performance came on January 28 against Highland (Ill.), where he nearly recorded a triple-double with 27 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds, leading the Warriors to a thrilling 94-88 win.
Beugre-Kassi also had an impressive season, playing in all but two games and posting a season-high 27 points and 10 rebounds in a game against Cloud County, shooting 76.9 percent from the field.
Both Southeastern and Marshalltown also had players named to the First Team All-Region.
Southeastern's Merquiche Lewis earned the honor after ranking in the top three in the conference in points, rebounds, and field goal percentage. Lewis averaged 12.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and shot 56.4 percent from the field. His best performance came in a close win where he led the Blackhawks with 26 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 78.6 percent from the field.
Marshalltown's Justice Small was the final First Team selection. Small led the conference in rebounds per game with 6.9, while tying for the top spot in points per game with 15. He also shot 50.4 percent from the field. Small's top performance came at the end of January in a game against Sauk Valley, where he scored 23 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and limited his turnovers to just two.
The 2024-25 Coach of the Year award went to Indian Hills head coach Cole Dewey. In his first year at the helm, Dewey guided the Warriors to a 27-5 record, a perfect 4-0 mark in Region 11 play -- and a Region 11 Championship victory. Under his leadership, the Warriors are expected to be a top seed in the upcoming national tournament.
Indian Hills finished the regular season ranked No. 3 in the NJCAA polls.
