NJCAA Summer Series Returns to Iowa in June

JOHNSTON, Iowa - The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference will be the host of the annual NJCAA June Scholastic Recruiting events for men's and women's basketball.

Now in its fourth year, the ICCAC will partner with Johnston Community School Districts to put on the event in Johnston, Iowa. 

The events, hosted June 16-18 and 23-25, developed after the NCAA opened up additional summer recruiting periods. With two-year athletes eligible to advance to continue their athletic careers at four-year institutions, the events provide exposure in addition to gaining experience and building team camaraderie for the upcoming season.

2023 will be the first season that Division I NCAA Women's Basketball coaches will be allowed to recruit on the weekend. 

On the court, teams participate in games and practices. Off the court, different speakers are brought in to discuss the transition of becoming an NCAA student-athlete, mental health, eligibility and other topics. 

Past presenters at the ICCAC June Events have been Fran Frascilla and Paul Biancardi of ESPN, John Thomas of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Greg Dana of NCAA Compliance.

Dates: June 16-18 & June 23-25
Location: Johnston, Iowa (Johnston High School)

Participation Requirements:
Student-Athlete is eligible to participate if they are:
-       Signed to a Letter Intent
-       Enrolled in summer classes
-       Enrolled full time in previous spring semester
-       Enrolled in the upcoming fall semester
*Must have a physical on file
 
Student-Athlete Coverage:
If registered as a team, an institution can cover:
-       Registration
-       Travel (ground only)
-       Food
-       Lodging
 
If registered as an individual, an institution can cover:
-       Registration fee only

The event will be open to registration for men's basketball teams, women's basketball teams, and individuals.

    • Team Fee: $250
    • Individual Fee: $60
  • Scouting Costs 
    • DI Packet: $200
    • DII Packet: $150
    • DIII Packet: $100
    • Entry Fee: $25
