Iowa Wins IA-MO 2022 Challenge, 6-2

#10 Triton (Trojans) and a receiving votes Moberly Area (Greyhounds) team met on Saturday -- the second day of the two-day event. As the only "ranked" game of the Challenge, each team was coming off victories on Day 1 -- Moberly with a 29-point win over Marshalltown, and Triton a 12-point victory over State Fair. 

The Trojans -- who replaced Iowa Western in the Challenge when the Reivers moved to Division II -- battled with the Greyhounds throughout the game. At half, Moberly led by just two points, and by the end -- Moberly edged the No. 10 team in the country, 74-71. 

Individually, Moberly was led by Tre'von Spillers who scored 15 points and had eight rebounds. Although, the MACC attack was balanced, as five players scored in double figures. 

Leading all players in scoring was TJ Biel of Triton -- with 18. Brandon Muntu had 16 as well, song with Ethan Pickett and BJ Marable each netting 13. 

Iowa won the IA-MO Challenge for the third-straight year, 6-2. The Triton/Moberly matchup was the only game decided by eight points or less (Southeastern def. Three Rivers, 72-63.). Six of the eight games were won by double digits.

It was the team's fifth meeting all-time, with now a 3-2 advantage to Moberly -- who have now won the last two contests.
