Six Named to 2022 All-American Teams for Men's Basketball
The NJCAA released their 2022 Men's Basketball All-Americans on Wednesday, with six ICCAC players finding their names on the list.
After a successful 27-6 season that ended at the national tournament, Indian Hills placed two players to the All- American list.
ICCAC Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Year J'Vonne Hadley landed on the First Team for the Warriors. Hadley was an athletic facilitator for the team leading Indian Hills in total blocks and rebounds, pulling down 203 rebounds over the course of the season.
He averaged 10.9 points and 6.2 rebounds while shooting 54.8 percent from the field this season. He is the 14th Warrior to earn first-team status.
Hadley's teammate Taj Anderson was also selected as an All-American, landing on the Honorable Mention team. Anderson was the leading scorer for the Warriors this season, averaging 13 points per game. He is the Warrior record holder for three pointers in a game when he made nine against Vincennes back on Nov. 24.
He ended his career at IHCC as a two time All-Region performer.
Concluding the three selections from Division I was Southeastern's Jesiah West, a Third Team All-American member. West was the leading scorer and rebounder for the Blackhawks averaging 13.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. He finished with the 34th most rebounds in Division I (270.).
West had 13 double-doubles this season, with game-highs of 22 points and 19 rebounds.
Moving to Division II, Jadan Graves of DMACC, the ICCAC Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Year, was selected as a First Team All-American. Graves averaged an ICCAC leading 16.7 points per game on 48.7% shooting from the field.
Graves saw his most success from behind the three-point arc, averaging 3.4 three pointers per game and had the third-highest three-point percentage in all of Division II at 48.1%. This season he broke DMACC's school record for most three-pointers made in a single game when he made nine threes against Marshalltown on Jan. 18.
The Bears ended the season with a third place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament -- Graves earned All-Tournament Team honors.
Landing on the Second Team in Division II was Kirkwood's DaChaun Anderson. Anderson averaged 10 points per game on 61.2% from the floor, and 81.7% from the free throw line, both in the top 25 in Division II.
The athletic big man was also top 25 in rebounds per game with 9.5 and had the 10th-most total rebounds in Division II with 294.
Rounding out the selections in Division II was Iowa Lakes' Caleb Johnson. Johnson was a solid scorer and distributor for the Lakers, averaging 12.4 points and 5.2 assists on the year. Johnson was especially effective from three, finishing 13th in the nation in three-point percentage at 44.7% on the season.
He was 12th in the county in assists as well with 160.
