2023 Winter Preview | Women's Wrestling

2023 Winter Preview | Women's Wrestling

In the first season of ICCAC Women's Wrestling, some teams were limited on roster sizes as they got their footing. As the 2023-24 season gets underway, expect a competitive season across the board, with all six teams ready to compete in conference duals and at the NJCAA National Championships.

Indian Hills returns as the favorite and reigning National Champions. The Warriors won four of the 11 weight classes last year and had 17 All-Americans (top 6). They return three of their champions from a year ago as they look to run it back.

Iowa Western and Iowa Central each will give the Warriors everything they've got. They finished third and fourth, respectively, at the National Tournament last season -- with IWCC's Ferny Hernandez returning as the only other national champion in the league.

Ellsworth and NIACC bolster their rosters to fill out the lineup cards to compete, while Iowa Lakes starts their program for their first-ever women's wrestling season.

With an established and committed foundation, it's no secret that the ICCAC has the best womens' wrestling conference in the country. Thirty seven of the 66 All-Americans last year came from the five teams.

All teams will meet in Council Bluffs again in March to determine a national champion.
