Match of the Week: Southeastern @ Ellsworth

Southeastern (13-10) and Ellsworth (16-2) squared off Tuesday night in Iowa Falls. It was the tail of two stories, as the Panthers were coming in as winners of six of their last seven matches, while Southeastern was 3-4 in their last seven. 

Ellsworth came into the game losing just one match in the month of September. However, Southeastern took it to them early and often, as the Blackhawks took a commanding 2-0 set lead.

In set one, Ellsworth was outscored 25-15, which was one of their worst sets of the season dating back to August 30 against Kirkwood. In set two, Southeastern was able to pull away for a 25-23 victory and became one set away from the win.

With their backs to the wall, the Panthers stormed back to take sets three and four to force a winner take all, set five. In the final set Ellsworth used their momentum and rallied from 0-2 to take set five and the match.

Ludine Charron led the way for the Panthers with 17 kills, as Ana Clara Cuartero finished with 13 and Sofia Betteni added 10. 

Defense was a major part of Ellsworth's comeback, with the Panthers collecting 86 digs and averaing 2.0 blocks per set. Betteni by herself had 19 digs and Manon Morrilon contributed 13 along with seven serivce aces.
