Game of the Week (#9 Kirkwood def. #16 DMACC 3-1)
It was the #9 Kirk wood Eagles taking on #16 DMACC Bears. DMACC was looking to bounce back after last week's loss to Iowa Central and Kirkwood coming off a Game of the Week win against Hawkeye. Both teams having back to back weeks of play ranked opponents. The first set was all Bears on the road as they won 25-16 to start the night. The Eagle's weren't backing down easy as they had 0 errors in the second set winning 25-8. DMACC, looking to answer the call in the third, fell short 25-17 due to Kirkwood having 15 kills in the set. The Bears down 2-1 going into the fourth set, the Eagle's looking for a home win and DMACC not wanting to get on the bus early this was a battle each team with 15+ kills in the set that ended in favor of Kirkwood 31-29.
Both these teams fought hard for a win for the Eagles they were led by Alyssa Tegeler in kills with 14 and blocks with 10. Sierra Marshall also had herself a day collecting 23 digs in the contest. The Eagles will be on the road again heading to Southwestern.
DMACC was led by Kenya Prescott who collected 35 digs on the night and Zophi Hendricks with 12 kills and 2 blocks in the loss. The Bears will be at home to face off against Northeast next Wednesday.
