Seven of ICCAC Volleyball's Best Tabbed as All-American

Seven ICCAC volleyball players were announced as All-Americans on Tuesday after their performances in the 2018 season. 

On the Division I side, three players from Iowa Western were cited as some of the nation's best. Freshman Genesis Sheridan, the Reivers right side hitter was recognized in the ICCAC as the Conference's best player. She earned First Team NJCAA honors after leading the nation in hitting percentage (.470). She had 340 total kills putting her in the NJCAA top 50 in that category. 

Hina Pua'a, a sophomore setter from Hawaii, had the second most assists in the country (1563) just 11 behind the leader, Emily Witt of Navarro, who played three more matches then Pua'a. Pua'a's 11.41 assist per set were tops in the nation. She was tabbed to First Team as well. 

Lastly from Iowa Western, sophomore Irina Alekseeva earned Second Team honors for the second straight season. She ranked sixth in the country in kills (495)  and led an Iowa Western team that finished fifth at the Division I National Tournament. 

Rounding out the selections from Division I was Indian Hills outside hitter, sophomore Mariana Rodrigues. Rodrigues finished the year with third most kills among all hitters in Division I and an ICCAC best, 537. Her 4.26 per set were third best as well. 

In Division II, ICCAC Player of the Year, sophomore Alexa Aldrich-Ingram of Kirkwood was the lone selection to the First Team. A transfer from Drake University, Aldrich-Ingram had the second most kills in the country (709). Thirteen times this season she finished with 20 or more kills in a match, including a 30 kill performance against ICCAC regular season champion Iowa Central on Oct. 10. 

Megan Hudson represented Hawkeye in on the Second Team after the RedTails first season of competition. In only 24 matches, Hudson, a freshman, racked up 389 kills, a 4.63 per set rate, which was third highest in the country. Hawkeye finished 19-9 and third in the ICCAC with a team of all freshman in the inaugural season under coach Scott Weston. 

Another Second Team selection was Iowa Central's sophomore setter, Abby Lohrmann. Lohrmann finished with the eighth most assists (1354) after helping lead the Tritons to a regular season conference championship and Region XI-A runner-up finish. She also collected 485 digs in 141 sets.
