ICCAC Division II Volleyball All-Region Teams Released

The 2018 All-Region volleyball selections for are out today after a well-played season across the board in Region XI. At one point during the year, six of the ten teams in the league were ranked or receiving votes in the NJCAA Division II Volleyball poll. As for the teams themselves, First Team All-Region XI A was comprised of three Iowa Central, two Kirkwood, and a DMACC player. First Team All-Region XI B consisted of three Northeast members, two from Hawkeye, and one NIACC player. 

In Region XI-A, Iowa Central had half of the selections after this season.

Abby Lohrmann had a great season for the Triton volleyball team. Lohrmann averaged 10.55 assists, and 3.58 digs per set to go with only four receiving errors throughout the entire ICCAC conference slate. She was as reliable as any setter in the conference this year and finished second in the Player of the Year voting. 

Amaya Finley had a solid freshman season for Iowa Central. Finley put up 4.34 kills, 4.25 digs, .47 Blocks, and 4.9 points per set during conference play. The 5'10" outside hitter was a big part of the Tritons perfect regular conference season (9-0) and a Region XI-A runner-up finish. 

Lastly, Libby Zorn was a consistent presence for the Tritons this year. Averaging 3.36 kills, .45 blocks, and had just three block errors the entire conference slate. Zorn was as good as any in the ICCAC player up front this season.

Kirkwood placed two players on the All-Region team this season. 

The Eagles were led by Lauren Keane as was one of the best setters in the ICCAC this year. The Iowa Falls native averaged 9.44 assists per set, to go along with 2.53 digs per set during conference play. Keane only had six ball handling errors the entire ICCAC slate. Kirkwood, the No. 5 seed, won Region XI-A bracket and then advanced to the NJCAA National Championships after a 3-0 sweep of Metropolitan Community College in the District D final. 

Alexa Aldrich-Ingram had a stellar season for Kirkwood this year. Voted by the coaches as the 2018 ICCAC Division II Player of the Year, she was a force during the conference schedule for the Eagles. Aldrich-Ingram averaged 4.35 Kills, 2.68 digs, 4.9 points, and .71 blocks per set during ICCAC play. Aldrich-Ingram's total kills of 632 were tops among those in the ICCAC this season and she was second in kills per set (4.27) behind Hawkeye's Megan Hudson (4.63). 

Rounding out Region-XI A was DMACC's, Amber Dilsaver. Dilsaver had a big impact in her freshman season for the Bears averaging 2.87 kills, .42 digs, and 1.42 blocks per set. The Fort Madison native was one of the best freshmen in the conference this year.

As for Region XI-B Northeast placed three on First Team this year after winning the region and advancing to the National Tournament in Charleston, West Va. on Nov. 15.

Savannah Nelson was a great asset to this Northeast volleyball team. Averaging a tremendous 10.25 assists per set, to go along with just five ball handling errors, she was a reliable distributor for this Hawks team all year long. Twice this Nelson eclipsed the 50 assist mark with her season high coming against Cowley when she recorded 54. Her performance in the two regional tournament games earned her Tournament MVP honors. 

Hannah Heppner didn't skip a beat in her freshman season for the Hawks. Averaging 2.5 kills, .5 blocks, and .78 digs per set, Heppner was a consistent presence in the middle and one of the best freshman in the conference. Heppner will try and help her team to a deep run in the National Tournament, the third straight season that Northeast has reached the big dance. 

Kalli Brester, the transfer from Midland University averaged 3.44 kills, and 3.34 digs per set to go along with only four reception errors in ICCAC conference play for Northeast. Brester was second on the team in digs (438) and led the team in kills with 352. 

A team of all freshman, Hawkeye notched two members on First Team All-Region XI-B after their first-ever season of volleyball. 

Maggie Driscol, the team's setter from La Porte, Iowa, averaged 10.18 assists, and 2.79 digs per set, and had zero ball handling errors all season long in the ICCAC. 

Megan Hudson this year's ICCAC Division II Volleyball Freshman of the Year, averaged 4.5 kills, 3.62 digs, and .74 blocks per set during ICCAC play for a solid Hawkeye team. Her 153 kills in conference play were the most in the league while, in all games, she was the conference leader in kills per set at 4.63. She finished with .210 hitting efficiency. 

From NIACC was Hannah Wagner. Wagner was the Trojans big hitter and a consistent presence for them all season. The sophomore outside hitter averaged 3.9 kills, 3.35 digs, and .35 blocks per set for NIACC during conference play. Wagner was a big part of the run to the regional championship run and upset of Hawkeye in the regional semifinals.
