Division II Conference Standings

 

#18 DMACC (9-4; 2-2) def. NIACC (12-6; 1-3) 3-1

DMACC picked up their second conference win of the season by defeating NIACC on Wednesday. Peyton Parker and Daiton Martin shined during the match. Martin led the team with 15 kills, while Martin led with 14 digs.

NIACC fought hard on Wednesday night taking the opening set from the Bears. The Trojans won the first set 25-22. Kennedy Mesiter and Hannah Wagner were NIACC's two key performers on the night. Meister led the team with 11 kills, followed by Wagner who had 10 kills. Connor Gauch led NIACC with 20 digs, while Sydney Roush had 23 assists. 

DMACC rebounded and finished the match strong, winning the last three sets 25-15, 25-18, and 15-17. 

DMACC will look for another victory next week against Iowa Lakes next week to get above .500 in conference play, while NIACC hosts Ellsworth hoping to right the ship after losing their last three ICCAC matches.

#15 Hawkeye (12-3; 3-1) def. Iowa Lakes (7-13; 1-3) 3-0

Hawkeye took all three sets against Iowa Lakes to bounce back after dropping their first match of the year last week against Iowa Central. The Redtails totaled 37 kills, 33 assists, and 53 digs as a team. Maggie Driscol had all 33 assists, while Megan Hudson led the team with 13 kills and Haylee Kuene led with 16 digs. 

Iowa Lakes focal point was Faith Marroquin who picked up 17 digs on the night. 

The Redtails won all three sets fairly handily, 25-12, 25-21, and 25-8. 

Hawkeye will head to Cedar Rapids for their match against Kirkwood and Iowa Lakes will host 18th ranked DMACC.

#14 Iowa Central (14-5; 4-0) def. Ellsworth (0-18; 0-4)

Iowa Central won their fourth conference game defeating Ellsworth in straight sets. The Tritons were strong offensively and defensively on the court. The team totaled 41 kills, 37 assists, and 85 digs. Abby Lohrmann had 32 assists. Reigning ICCAC Division II Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week Kryssie Okinaka led with 20 digs, while Kayla Faldet led the team with 9 kills. 

Iowa Central swept all three sets 25-12, 25-13, and 25-20. 

No stats were available at the time of release for Ellsworth. 

Iowa Central will host Northeast with hopes of taking their fifth conference win in a battle of the unbeaten. Ellsworth will host Marshalltown next before heading to play NIACC next week.

#10 Kirkwood (15-3; 3-1) def. Southeastern (9-7; 2-2) 3-0 

Kirkwood won their third conference game of the season against Southeastern. Alexa Alrich-Ingram and Maddie Lavenz were two strong influences on the court. Lavenz totaled 24 digs, followed by Alrich-Ingram who had 17 digs. Lauren Keane dished out 33 assists. 

Kirkwood won all three sets 25-23, 25-12, and 25-22. 

No stats were available at the time of release for Southeastern. 

Kirkwood will host Hawkeye next Wednesday as both teams are ranked in the Top 15. Southeastern faces Southwestern.

#17 Northeast (10-6; 4-0) def. Southwestern (6-12; 0-4) 3-1

Northeast kept their conference winning streak alive by defeating Southwestern, 3-1.  

Elley Beaver and Kalli Brester led the offensive attack with 14 kills. Setter Savannah Nelson tallied 44 assists and Gabriella Barbosa recorded 24 digs. 

The Spartans were able to win the second set 25-23.

No stats were available at the time of release for Southwestern.

Northeast will go head-to-head with No. 14 Iowa Central in the battle for the top of the ICCAC standings. Southwestern will host Southeastern next Wednesday.
