Reivers Remain Perfect in Conference Play
Bettendorf, IA: Iowa Western stays undefeated in ICCAC play by defeating Scott CC 4-0
 
How It Happened: The Reivers got off to a fast start as Hope Riche scored the first of her two goals in the 5th minute. After clever interplay between Laura Linares and Moriah Lucas in the right corner, Lucas attracted 3 Eagle defenders before playing a perfect cross to Riche for a thumping header inside the 6-yard box. It was Riche again in the 10' as she ran on to a Linares pass that Paola Ochoa cleverly laid off in to Riche's path, who beat the onrushing Scott goalkeeper. The Reivers domintated possession the rest of the half, with the Eagles recording 1 shot in the first 45 minutes that sailed wide.
 
The second half saw more of the same from the Visiting Reivers. Linares added a third goal after clever wingplay found Ochoa in the box in 48'. Ochoa was provider again as she laid off to Linares who placed her 19 yard shot in to the right upper 90. Nine minutes later freshman Lina Jaime finished off the scoring with a well placed finish from just outside the penalty area. The Reivers wouldn't allow a shot in the second frame and finsished the match with 23 total shots.
 
Notes & Numbers: Iowa Western improves to 7-3-0. Riche has now scored 5 goals in 5 matches. Ochoa leads the team with 4 assists on the year. Goalkeeper Judit Gonzalez collected her 4th shutout of the season.
