NIACC's freshman Dillon Coe (157 pounds) and sophomore Basil Minto (184 pounds) both placed second at the district tournament. Minto, who placed fifth at national a year ago, entered the district tournament ranked No. 1 at 184 pounds.
The Trojans received a third-place finish from freshman 197-pounder Shakheim Chapman and fourth-place finishes from freshman Zach Welter (133 pounds) and freshman Sha-Keno Jenkins (149 pounds).
Placing sixth and earning national wild-card berths for the Trojans were freshman JP Gamez (125 pounds), freshman Blake Spotts (141 pounds), freshman Parker Sturges (165 pounds) and freshman 285-pounder Alex Stockton.
The top five wrestlers at each of the 10 weight classes qualify for the NJCAA national meet and sixth-place finishers could earn wild-card berths.
