Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA has announced one honoree to be inducted into the NJCAA Women's Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Larry Briley will be enshrined as a member of the 2023 class.

Larry Briley is responsible for starting the Des Moines Area Community College Women's Golf program in 2004 and re-starting the Men's Golf program in 2007. After serving as head coach of the women's golf team for 12 years and the men's team for nine years, Briley currently holds the position of assistant coach for the Bears. His career at Des Moines Area spans over 19 years, for women's golf, with the Bears making 18 NJCAA Women's Golf Championship appearances. Briley qualified either an individual or team in 18 of his 19 years with the women's golf program.

Briley has coached a total of 54 female athletes at the NJCAA Women's Golf Championship and has qualified 10 teams for the national tournament. He has also coached a total of 35 male athletes at the national tournament, including 13 years of either a team or individual qualifying. Briley has made a combined 31 national championship appearances with 89 student-athletes at the national championship and 5 All-Americans.

Before joining the Des Moines Area coaching staff, Briley spent several years caddying for Boone, IA, native ISU standout Shelley Finnestad on the LPGA Tour including the 1998 U.S. Women's Open. He has used his many years of experience and knowledge to help shape and grow his student-athletes, resulting in a large number of athletes moving on to all levels of golf, including Division I, II, III, and NAIA.
