Four Honored As NJCAA All-Americans

The NJCAA released the 2018-19 Women's Basketball All-Americans on Monday with four ICCAC student-athletes getting recognized.

Division I was represented by Second Team selection, Kiara Dallman of Iowa Western. The ICCAC Division I Player of the Year led the Reivers to their first Region XI Championship since 2017. She averaged 13.9 points per game and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 61.2% from the field, fifth best in the country. Dallman ended the year scoring double-digits in 11 straight games.

Irene Sanz of Northeast was selected to the Honorable Mention team. This year's Region XI runners up, Sanz was the Hawks leading scorer, posting 11.6 points per game and adding 5 rebounds per contest. She made the second most three-pointers in the conference (49).

On the Division II side, there were two players selected as well. A First-Team selection was Mandy Willems of NIACC, the ICCAC Player of the Year. Her 24.1 points per game tied for third most in the country. Her scoring barrage this season included three 40-point games and ten games with at least 30.

Three times she made 10 or more three-pointers in a single game, setting an NJCAA record when she made 13 against Southeastern on March 2. Willems is the first NIACC All-American since 2015-16 when Savannah Lentz made Third Team.

Rounding out the selections was Brittany West from Iowa Central. West was the Tritons go-to player this season scoring 14.1 points per game and pulling down 3.8 rebounds per game.

Before being sidelined for the Regional Tournament, in her final three games, she averaged 24 points and 5 rebounds.
