Directions to Iowa Trap Shooting Club - Cedar Falls
After the fall season of ICCAC Sport Shooting competition, teams will reconvene in one final competition this weekend to determine the Region XI Champion in Cedar Falls at the Iowa Trap Shooting Club.
During the fall, each Division (East & West) had a team finish with a perfect 6-0 record.
In the East, Hawkeye came out on top while having a point differential of +217. Hawkeye's leading shooter was Jake Maakestad who had an average score of 98.5 in the fall. Southeastern came in at a close second with a record of 4-1, with their only loss coming at the hands of Hawkeye. The Blackhawks had a conference leading point differential of +386 and their top shooter was Tyler Raub who averaged a score of 96 in the four competitions he was in.
Iowa Central went undefeated in the West division for the second year in a row going 6-0. The Tritons had the second largest point differential in the conference after outscoring opponents by +295. Abram Driscoll led the Triton's and finished in the top five in four separate meets where he was shooting an average score of 98.25. Iowa Central led the conference in points again, with 2947. They had the highest average points per meet also with 491 out of 500.
Also coming out of the West is last year's Region XI Champion, Iowa Western. The Reivers continued a lot of their success from last year, as their lowest team score in the fall was a 484. Their record in the fall was 4-1, with their only team loss coming to Iowa Central.
Even with the top dogs in the meet coming into the meet riding a hot streak in the fall, many shooters from all over the conference will be looking to do their best.
This should make the individual shooting championship as tight as it ever has been as with four different individuals shooting a perfect score of 100 last fall and many other competitors shooting 99's.
