ACKLEY, Iowa- The ICCAC Sports Shooting programs will be competing at the 2019 Scholastic Clay Target Program Collegiate State Trap Championship this Saturday, April 27 at the Stockdale Gun Club in Ackley. The American Trap Championship will consist of 200, 16-yard targets.
The ICCAC teams will compete in the overall competition, which will decide the conference champion. There will be trophies for the top three ICCAC teams, top three squads, and medals for the top three men's and women's shooters awarded following the meet.
Going into the competition, Iowa Central posted the best record in not only the ICCAC West Division but in the conference with an unblemished record of 6-0, scoring 2,896 points this season. Hawkeye ends the season with an identical record to Southeastern at 5-1, but won the point differential at 2,874 to 2,871 to claim first place in the East Division.
Plenty of prolific shooters enter the competition, with every team posting at least one participant scoring a 95+ point individual performance over the course of the season.

Event Fast Facts

- Club House Kitchen will be open for the duration of the event.
- An assortment of 12 gauge shells will be available for sale at the club.
- Practice traps will be available all day, beginning at 9 A.M. For a 16-yard practice trap, it is six dollars per round.
- A bank system will be used, where athletes will shoot their first two rounds on the first trap, then move one trap to the east to shoot the second two rounds. Once all individuals have completed their first 100 targets, the second 100 targets will be shot in the same manner.
- The course of fire will be American Trap (16-yard), 200 targets.
- Awards will be given one the competition is over. Team championship awards are presented to first through fifth place. Individual awards will be given to both male and female, first through sixth place.
