Last Friday, the NIACC women won the Buena Vista Invitational at Storm Lake with 31 points. NIACC freshman Jessica Blumberg was the individual champion in 20:28 in the 5K race. Freshman teammate Emerson Sears was third in 20:50.
In the men's poll, Central Arizona is ranked first, Iowa Central is ranked second and Iowa Western is ranked fourth.
Last Friday, the NIACC men also won at Buena Vista with 32 points. NIACC sophomore Imad Amenzou won in a time of 26:28 and sophomore teammate Jacob Day was second in 27:12.
The NIACC women's and men's teams return to action Sept. 26 at the annual Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota.
