After two runner-up finishes and an early exit as the No. 1 seed in the semifinals, Marshalltown finally broke thru in the 2018 and took home the Region XI Championship. The Tigers return this year as the conference favorites, but Iowa Lakes is right behind them and on the cusp of breaking thru. The Lakers have a strong core of returners that could put them over the hump in 2019.
Iowa Western is back in 2018 after an uncharacteristic season. With a new coach, the Reviers hope to return back to the National Tournament for the first time since 2016.
Indian Hills, Iowa Central and Hawkeye round out the projected top 6, the cut-off for regional tournament qualification.
