2024 Division I Men's Golf | Central District Championship Preview

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The two Division I ICCAC teams will head south to Kansas City to take on Tiffany Greens Golf Course and the rest of the Central District Championship field. The Championship will start Monday, April 29 and through Tuesday, April 30 -- 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. There will be four regions (6, 11, 12, 24) in attendance looking to secure one of the five team spots available for the National Tournament in Hobbs, New Mexico. 

The teams that will be there from Kansas (Region 6) will be Barton County, Coffeyville, Dodge City, Fort Scott, Garden City, Hutchinson, Kansas City Kansas. From Region 12, Crowder in Missouri will join the group.

The 2023 reigning National Champions will be there from Region 11. Indian Hills is obviously one of the teams to look out for this season coming off the seventh team title claimed last season. Gaspar Glaudas is currently ranked #1 in the Region and #4 in the Nation according to ClippdGlaudas is coming off a season where he finished third last season at the NJCAA National Tournament.

Jose Carletta, of Indian Hills is currently ranked #6 in the region and #27 Nationally. With the fire power of Indian Hills, they are a favorite to get back to the National Tournament.

As a team Indian Hills as a team ranks #1 in the region and #4 nationally.

For Iowa Western, they are currently #14 nationally according to Clippd. The Reivers last season placed 17th at the NJCAA National Tournament.

Iowa Western has won their last three tournaments as a team heading into the District Championships. Ethan Smith is currently ranked #3 in the region and #17 in the nation. Smith has two wins this season after placing T-18 last season in the NJCAA National Tournament. 

Henry Kosmicki is also a golfer to look out for with two wins this season. Kosmicki, is ranked #46 in the nation and sits at #8 for the region.

Barring a major let down -- both teams should find themselves in New Mexico in the middle of May.
