Seven Earn All-American Status at NJCAA Men's Golf Championships

There were seven ICCAC teams represented at the NJCAA Men's Golf National Championships in 2022 -- both Division I schools and five Division II schools.

Indian Hills and Iowa Western made the trip to Odessa, Texas to join the other teams at the Division I National Tournament. Indian Hills finished 12th as a team (+26) and followed in 13th place (+27).

Frank Vucic, the freshman for Indian Hills earned a spot on All-American First Team. He was the only Division I golfer from the ICCAC to earn an All-American spot. Vucic tied for fourth place, where he shot 284 which was -4. He finished just three strokes behind first place. Vucic shot under par three of the four rounds, and his best rounds came in the 1st and 4th rounds where he shot 69 (-3).  

Kirkwood, Northeast, and Hawkeye participated as teams in the Division II Golf Championships at the Twin Hills Golf and Country Club in Joplin, Mo. Joining them were individuals from DMACC and Iowa Central. 

Kirkwood earned the highest place team finish, taking 5th place after shooting 1211 (+59). JD Pollard, a Second Team All-American for the Eagles, tied for 11th place after shooting 296 (+8). 

Hawkeye also had their own Second Team All-American in Tom Bell.  Bell shot 298 (+10) which was enough to take 13th place individually. 

Santiago Valdes earned All-American Honorable mention this year, and led the Northeast Hawks to a ninth place finish in the tournament (+76). Valdes took 25th place in the tournament finishing with 302 strokes,14-over par.

Iowa Central's Liam Ross and Justin Schipper participated in the tournament as individuals.  Ross earned First Team All-American this season, and was the only ICCAC golfer to earn that title. Ross tied for seventh place after shooting 295 (+7). 

Schipper was named Second Team All-American. He stayed consistent in the first three rounds, where he shot 73 in each round. The fourth round he shot a 76. Schipper shot 299 (+11) for a 16th place tie.  

Tyler Sansgaard of DMACC was also a Second Team All-American. He participated in the championship as an individual, and finished 299 (+11) for 16th place.
