NJCAA Men's Golf Championship Recap

Five teams competed in the NJCAA Men's Golf Championships in May, two in Division I and three in Division II. 

Iowa Western and Indian Hills finished in seventh and eighth place in Lubbock, Texas at The Rawls Course. The Warriors finished at +29, and the Reivers +30, with the champion at -16 (Hutchinson). 

Three players earned All-American honors with top 15 finishes. A Second Team performance was put in by Iowa Western's Grant Jabenis. The freshman tied for eighth overall with a +1 score in four rounds. 

Twice he shot under par, with his best round coming in round one, with a -2, 70. 

Indian Hills had two Honorable Mention performers with a six-way tie for 14th place. Antoine Sale and Thomas Burou, both sophomores, shot +4 for the tournament. Burou shot a 69 in round one, the best round between the two, while Sale was consistent, shooting two 72s and two 74s. 

At the Division II National Tournament, Iowa Central took fourth place, finishing one spot higher than Region XI Champion, Kirkwood. The Tritons were +41 as a team, 14-strokes higher than the Eagles +55 and 25 strokes behind the champions, Parkland (Ill.). 

DMACC came in seventh place of 19 teams, with a +65 team performance. 

On the individual leaderboard, Kirkwood's James Morgan finished third. Morgan, the ICCAC Division II Golfer of the Year shot even par for the tournament. He was six shots off the lead. 

DMACC's Dylan Ellis (+3) was a Second Team All-American with a seventh place result. His teammate Tyler Sansgaard (+7) was a Honorable Mention All-American with a 14th place finish.
