ICCAC Fills Field in Ames

Between the men and women 12 ICCAC golf teams took to Ames Golf and Country Club for the DMACC Invite. Iowa Western completed the sweep as both Reiver teams were able to come away with team and individual victories. 

Men

Iowa Western had a team score of 286 (+2) to narrowly beat out Indian Hills' score of 287 (+3). Eleven of the 13 teams competing represent the ICCAC and on a beautiful day for golf they delivered. In fact, teams from the conference had all top five team scores. Joining the Reivers and Warriors, Iowa Western B finished third with a score of 296 (+12), DMACC in fourth firing a 302 (+18), and Iowa Lakes in fifth after a 307 (+23). Teams also finishing the 18-hole tournament included Iowa Central's 315 (+31), Hawkeye's 318 (+34), DMACC B's 319 (+35), NIACC's 330 (+46), Hawkeye B's 349 (+65) and Southwestern's 375 (+91). 

On the individual side of things, Iowa Western's Jakob Falk and Indian Hills' Antoine Sale shot matching 69's, a total of two-under par. They were the only players to shoot in the red at the par 71 course. The two teams owned the top of the leaderboard as the two schools took home the top nine spots. Joining Falk were fellow Reviers Grant Jabenis (71), Daniel Gutgesell (72), Gustav Sjoberg (72), and Thomas Craig (73). Sale was joined in the top 10 by Warrior teammates Harry Fearn (71), Thomas Burou (72), and Blade Gadd (72)

Women

Players from six programs competed with three teams finishing in the team standings. 

Three ICCAC women's golf teams were also battling it out at the DMACC Invite, Iowa Western played well with a total of 335 equating to a total of 51-over par. Right behind the Reivers was Central College (NCAA DIII), and the DMACC Bears finishing in third with a score of 358 (+74). Iowa Lakes also had a solid performance on the day with their team score of 368 (+84). 

Iowa Western claimed three of the top five spots on the day. Seira Kubo took home the title of individual champion with her 80 (+9). Other top five performances were turned in by Luisa Gibson's 81 (+10), and Maya Northcutt's 83 (+12). Other top ten rounds were turned in by DMACC's Lydia Steier and her +13, 84. Another bear finished T-7, Krista Swenson shot a +15, 86. NIACC's Thea Lunning tied for seventh with Swenson after finishing with a +15, 86 as well.
