Host Indian Hills Wins The W at the Preserve

On Monday the 21st of September four ICCAC schools took to Moriavia, Iowa to compete at The Preserve.

Tournament Results

Indian Hills, the host of The W @ the Preserve, took home the team title with a team score of 14-under par with the top five individual scores, and all seven golfers finishing in the top twenty. Max Hartmann was the individual medalist with a total score of -5 after 36 holes. Hartmann was joined near the top of the leaderboard as the other six Indian Hills golfers all improved on their first-round scores.

The Warriors continue to keep up their winning ways as they head to the Zach Johnson Invitational at Glen Oaks in West Des Moines next Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 28-29.

Iowa Western also came through as they brought two squads to the tournament. The Reiver "A' team (+6) finished in second  and their "B" team (+12) managed a third-place finish. Iowa Western was led by freshman Jakob Falk who had a 36-hole score of 142 (-2), good enough for fifth place at The W.

Iowa Western also added another five top-15 individual performances which included Gustav Sjoberg (T-7), Kyle Hickey (T-10), Carson Caylor (13), Thomas Craig (14), and Daniel Gutgesell (T-15), that has them in good position as they join Indian Hills next week at the Zach Johnson Invitational in West Des Moines.

Other ICCAC schools DMACC and Southeastern competed in Moriavia and finished in sixth and seventh place, respectively. With a team score of +23 DMACC just missed out on a top five team finish where Southeastern finished at +71 but were able to maintain a sizeable lead over the eighth-place finishers in the tournament.

Both schools have plenty of time off as they both have to wait until October to get back to the links.
