ICCAC Golf Results | WEEK 2

This past weekend, the ICCAC competed in two golf meets both hosted by ICCAC schools. 

NIACC Invitational

Women

Results

On Friday, NIACC hosted their Invitational at the Mason City Country Club. DMACC was the overall winner with 342 stokes (+54). Bear's golfer, Lydia Steier, finished first overall individually shooting a 74 (+2). Along with Steier, Aubrey Duncan tied for fourth place shooting a 86 (+14). 

Iowa Lakes women's golf team finished second with 354 strokes (+66), led by third place finisher Gretchen Hofstad. Hofstad shot an 85 which was 13-over par. The Lakers had two other top 10 finishers with Isabella Santistevan (+16) finishing tied for seventh and Somer Hudson (+17) finished ninth. 

Rounding out the team results, NIACC placed third overall with 364 strokes (+76). Their team-high finisher was Hailey Panos (+14), who tied for fourth place. Finishing right behind Panos was Trojan teammate Thea Lunning (+15). Lunning placed sixth overall shooting an 87. 

Iowa Central didn't place in the team standings, but Kelly Boleyn represented the Tritons placing second overall with a score of 82 (+10). 

 

Men

Results

For the men, DMACC also finished first overall in the team standings shooting five-under par earning them 283 points. The Bears filled the top 6 individual finishers with two teammates tying for first place. Tyler Sansgaard and Dylan Sporrer both finished four-under par scoring 68 points. Dylan Ellis, DMACC sophomore, tied for fourth place shooting a one-over 73. Tying for sixth place was Bears' sophomore Joe Dean, who shot two-over par. 

Iowa Central finished second overall scoring 302 strokes (+14). They were led by Austin Erickson, who shot even for the day. The next Triton finisher was Joe Forsting, who shot three-over par tying for eighth place. 

Only three strokes behind Iowa Central, Hawkeye shot a team 305 earning them third place. The RedTails best finisher was Austin Reynolds (+1), who tied for fourth place with DMACC's Ellis.

NIACC and Iowa Lakes rounded out the team standings with only two strokes seperating them. NIACC took fourth with 316 and Iowa Lakes finished fifth with 318. Both schools had top 10 finishers with NIACC's JJ Wickman (+3) tying for eighth place while Iowa Lakes was led by Sam Miller (+2) who tied for sixth. 

 

War at the Moor 

Men

Results

In western Iowa, Southwestern hosted the War at the Moor. The meet gets its name from where the meet was played, the Crestmoor Golf Club. 

Indian Hills won the War shooting a 277 (-11). The Warriors accounted for the top 6 finishers dominating the meet. The meet individual champion was Antoine Sale who shot six-under par (66). Not too far behind was Thomas Burou who ended with a three-under par 69. The next four Warrior finishers all tied for third place shooting one-under par. Those finishers were Harry Fearn, Blade Gadd, Max Hartmann, and Cyril Henault. Finishing seventh place, Jake Calhoun shot one-over par.

Southeastern placed third overall scoring with a 328 (+40). They were led by tenth-place individual finisher, Tate Nelson. Nelson shot eight-over par to end the day. Next Blackhawk finisher was Caleb Cochran, who tied for 12th place shooting 10-over par.

Southwestern ended the day in fourth place overall scoring a 341 (+53). The Spartans were led by Ethan Brumbaugh (+10), who tied for 12th place. Brumbaugh's teammate Harrison Galea finished one stroke behind him and Cochran earning tying him with Zayne Osborn from Southeastern for 15th place. 

 

Women

Results

For the women's side, no ICCAC teams placed in the overall team standings but had two finishers from both Southeastern and Southwestern.

Southeastern was led by Elle Jones who ended the day a +45 earning her 14th place. Jones' teammate Vanessa Golowach finished 17th place shooting a +55. 

The Spartans of Southwestern had a top 10 finisher being Caitlin Clark who ended the day shooting +27 placing her tied for tenth. Her teammate Brooklyn Housley finished 16th overall individual shooting a +54 to end the meet.
