GOTHENBURG, Neb. – Two ICCAC teams finished in the top three at this year's NJCAA Division I Men's Golf District III Championship in Gothenburg, Neb. Indian Hills, who is currently the No. 2 ranked team in NJCAA, won the meet by a margin of three strokes. Hutchinson (Kan.) earned second place, while Iowa Western played to third-place.
Indian Hills finished the meet with a team score of 570 (-6), while Iowa Western finished with 582 (+6).
Although no ICCAC golfer won the tournament, Warrior athletes Jesse MacNaughtan and Joe Hodgson tied for third place with a total score of 142. Indian Hills had three of the top ten finishers at the District meet, including George Clarke tying for eighth place with a score of 144.
MacNaughtan performed a five-under-par 67 over the final 18 holes, clinching the victory for the Warriors and completing his best round of the tournament. His performance also earned McNaughtan a spot on the all-tournament team.
Iowa Western had four golfers finish in the top 20. Cade McCallum (144), Rick Van der Nat (145), Clay Kucera (148) and Adam Van Raden (148).
Indian Hills has now won six consecutive District titles. The Warriors will finish the season defending their National Title at the NJCAA Championship on May 14-17 in Melbourne, Florida.
