NIACC's Fink begins play at nationals on Tuesday

It is the third time since Chris Frenz took over the NIACC golf program in 2007 that the men's team will be represented at the national tournament.

NIACC placed 17th as a team in 2011 with Max Rohlfsen, who tied for 87th, leading the way. In 2013, Jacob Urdahl tied for 57th and Dalton Olson tied for 69th.

Fink, who prepped at Valley of Elgin, qualified for the national golf tournament with a fourth-place finish at the NJCAA Region XI tournament at the Lake Panorama Golf Course May 3-4.

Fink shot a 76-77 - 153 to earn his trip to nationals.

Fink, whose 10-round average this spring is 75.2, was the meet medalist at the Iowa Central Invitational on April 15 and the meet medalist at the Iowa Lakes Invitational on April 22.
