NIACC men place second at Iowa Central Invite

Sophomore Levi Fink and freshman Hunter Miller led the Trojans as they tied for third in the individual medalist competition. Fink shot 75-72 - 147 and Miller shot 77-70 - 147.

"Both Levi and Hunter followed solid rounds on Saturday with quality play on Sunday," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said, "and it's that type of effort that we're going to need if we are to win the regional tournament in a couple of weeks."

Other counting scores for the Trojans were sophomore Kevin Trobaugh (75-81 - 156) and sophomore Derrick Urdahl (81-83 - 164).

" The other guys struggled a little (Sunday)," Frenz said, "but that just means we have room for improvement and we played very well as it is. Shooting 308-306 is a good score, Iowa Central just played a little better (Sunday).

"It was a good season opening tournament for us and I'm looking forward to heading to Lake Panorama golf course next Friday and Saturday."

NIACC returns to action Friday and Saturday at the AIB Invitational at the Lake Panorama National Golf Resort in Panora, Ia.
