The kirkwood Mens Golf Team opened the season this past weekend with a 4th place finish at the Cropper Golf Classic hosted by Mount Mercy University at Hunters Ridge Golf Course in Marion, IA. The Eagles fired a two day total of 298-312=610 which was 13 shots back from champion AIB 299-298=597. Illinois Wesleyan finished in 2nd with 599 and Mount Mercy rounded out the top 3 with a 608. Kirkwood was led by sophomore Sheldon Gryp (Victor, IA) and freshmen Nathan Chilcott (Wales), who both fired 2-day totals of 148 which was good for a T-6th individually. Ryan Palser also played well over the weekend with a total of 151 which netted him a T-13th. The Eagles will be back in action on September 16-17 at the Grandview Invitational held at TCI in Polk Cty, IA.
